INGLEWOOD, Calif. Whatever has just become the new chapter in WWE.
Starting its 2025 calendar year with one of the grandest turns in the history of the company, Raw debuted on Netflix, making it possible for earlier entries to watch this iconic show entirely live without cable since 1993. It would be a great night for WWE, as everyone fantasizes it to be.
Four of the matches were on the card, all main event-worthy bouts: CM Punk vs. Seth Rollins, a tribal combat duel for the right to wear the ula fala, and another chapter in the top rivalry of the women’s division, this time with a title on the line. That doesn’t even include the many appearances that happen, including an “electrifying” one and the start of the John Cena farewell tour.
Here is the summary all over reiterations and results from the first Monday Night Raw on Netflix.
CM Punk vs Seth Rollins
With no love lost, Punk and Rollins wasted no time trying to end each other’s careers. The fight spilled outside the ring, with both men crashing into the announcer’s table and barricade.
A heated exchange with the referee gave Punk time to recover, landing a dropkick and throwing Rollins off the top turnbuckle into an unexpected move. The action stayed unpredictable, with Rollins mocking Punk by hitting a Go To Sleep. When Punk attempted his own, Rollins countered and delivered one of Punk’s signature moves instead, nearly securing a pinfall.
Frustrated, Rollins went for a curb stomp, but Punk escaped by getting his foot on the ropes. Rollins attempted a turnbuckle suplex, but Punk countered mid-air, hitting a devastating Go To Sleep. As Rollins stumbled, Punk executed a second Go To Sleep, sealing the pinfall victory.
Analysis
This match was pure drama and scintillating entertainment, showcasing why both stars are among WWE’s finest. While either man could have won, Punk’s victory resets Rollins’ standing, potentially pushing him toward a darker, redemptive path.
Meanwhile, Punk continues to dominate his fiercest rivals, having defeated Drew McIntyre and now Rollins. With this momentum, Punk is poised to be an unstoppable force heading into a WrestleMania main event.
Hogan makes his comeback, but gets booed.
“Hulkamania” isn’t running wild.
Hulk had this event in the WWE Hall of Fame exhibit, but he walked into the warm welcome of fans and, as things went, turned sour as the crowd booed him. There was no mistaking what the sentiment was, as the noted crowd’s silence was made louder as Hogan spoke.
Jey Uso vs. Drew McIntyre
Uso wasted no time going after McIntyre, flying out of the ring to strike him before the bell even rang. McIntyre recovered quickly and sent Uso into the steel steps and then into the ring to officially get the action started.
From that point, it was a very brutal assault from McIntyre looking to have his ways onto the main part of the OG Bloodline. Uso had to defend himself and try to devise ways and strategy to counter whatever McIntyre threw at him because the control was not leaving no matter what with McIntyre.
The Undertaker celebrating with Rhea Ripley
The “Deadman” is certainly congratulating the one who achieved the new Women’s World Champion title.
As Ripley neared the end of the ramp, the familiar bell from inside the Intuit Dome went off, turned the lights off, and got the crowd all riled up. Then the “American Badass” music began, and The Undertaker rode his motorcycle into the arena; he circled the ring and came back to be right next with Ripley. After having a look together, the two raised their hands while the fireworks went off around the whole arena, signifying approval from the WWE legends for Ripley.
Women’s World Championship match: Liv Morgan vs. Rhea Ripley
The two fiery rivals got right into it, tearing one another apart and punishing each other as much as they could. But despite this, Morgan’s partners in crime, Dominik Mysterio and Raquel Rodriguez, made sure to take their shots at the competitor whenever the referee wasn’t looking.
The advantage had put Morgan in a position where she was able to build some offense and even toy with Ripley at some points, but Ripley took every shot and it only fueled her to turn it around. With the height and strength, Ripley threw Morgan around easy, landed a Riptide, and only for the champion to kick out.
Seeing Morgan starting to slip, Mysterio and Rodriguez created a distraction that allowed Morgan to land Oblivion on the steel chair, like many times before. She went for the pin, but Ripley kicked out. Morgan then honored Eddie Guerrero-or Mysterio-by performing the Three Amigos, Guerrero shake, and frog splash. But it didn’t work for the pin.
That left Morgan sulking, and she tried to repeat the mistake again but was stopped by Ripley. She hoisted her again and executed another Riptide on her. One time was not enough, so she picked Morgan up for yet another Riptide that was good enough to put her away and regain the title.
Later in the match, Mysterio tries to patch things up with Ripley and offers her an embrace, but Ripley low blows her former partner and finishes with Riptide to solidify the statement of her victory.
Analysis: “Mami” is on top, and Ripley has finally accomplished what she came in for-all the gold that was never essentially lost. She has achieved her victory really dramatically. Even though this rivalry has been stale at times, it is still the greatest thing in women’s wrestling, and it desperately needed some sorta modifications to keep some character with the fans.
Ripley heads into 2025 with gold around her waist, and it is highly likely that she will enter WrestleMania season with a solid possibility that the title will be defended at WWE’s greatest event. But she isn’t done with Morgan just yet, and a rematch is highly likely to happen in the coming weeks, maybe at the Royal Rumble.
John Cena emerges Let the farewell tour begin
John Cena came out to kick off in his last year in wrestling, addressing the crowd through yet another ode in moving to Netflix. He couldn’t possibly think of any better place than LA to start his farewell tour. Talking about his roots in wrestling around here.
He always wished that Cena would become a 17-time WWE champion this year. However, Cena dismissed the idea, stating it was “never going to happen.” Adding a touch of humor, he claimed he had a better shot at winning an Academy Award than securing another championship title, though he acknowledged the possibility still existed.
With a cheeky grin, he made his entrance into the crowd, announcing his participation in the 2025 Royal Rumble. This, he explained, was his bid to earn the right to compete at WrestleMania 41. Before signing off, he left the audience buzzing with a bold prediction.
“I’m going to win the Royal Rumble,” he said.
Tribal Combat: Roman Reigns vs. Solo Sikoa
After a lock-up to start the bout, Reigns shoved Sikoa out of the ring. Outside, Sikoa gained momentum by slamming the announcement table into Reigns’ head. Back in the ring, Sikoa escalated the chaos with steel steps and a chair, but Reigns thwarted the attacks. The battle remained fierce, with both men delivering brutal shots.
Reigns sent Sikoa crashing through a table and attempted a pin, only for Tama Tonga to interrupt. Jacob Fatu appeared, attacking Reigns and landing a Samoan spike, but Reigns kicked out. Frustrated, Sikoa took out the referee with another Samoan spike. Chaos erupted as Sami Zayn and Jimmy Uso intervened to even the odds against Sikoa. A spear by Reigns seemed decisive, but no referee was present to count. A new official arrived, only for Sikoa to kick out.
The madness escalated when Kevin Owens attacked Reigns, and Cody Rhodes joined to fight his rival, taking the brawl into the crowd. Eventually, it came down to Reigns and Sikoa. Both attempted to execute finishers before Reigns landed a spear, followed by another to secure the pin and reclaim the Tribal Chief title.
As Paul Heyman prepared to place the ula fala on Reigns, The Rock entered. Taking the ula fala, he placed it on Reigns’ neck, and the two embraced.
Analysis: Typical Tribal Combat chaos ensued, with the “OTC” standing tall. The fast-paced action and immediate involvement of all sides made for a refreshing twist, keeping the match intense throughout.
They Didn’t Have To Wait Much Longer For The Rock
Immediately, upon opening with music at the Intuit Dum turnout, The Rock was the first one to appear on the entrance ramp and erupted in cheers from the live crowd.
Carrying his People’s Championship title, he stepped into the ring after first handing it to his daughters. Reflecting on his journey, he spoke about the pain of watching wrestling as a kid and how much the sport has evolved over the years.
The event, he proudly noted, was on track to break the record for the biggest gate in WWE’s history at an arena.
But then came the unbelievable. The Rock thanked Undisputed WWE Champion Cody Rhodes for carrying the company “on his back” through the last year. The two met as wrestlers in WrestleMania 40, and The Rock was now thanking Rhodes, who was present in the audience. The two sides exchanged respectful recognition. They later went in for what had to be a stunner for the WWE crowd-a hug.
He also credited Roman Reigns, “the original Tribal Chief,” as he prepared to face Solo Sikoa in tribal combat for the right to wear the ula fala. The Rock said he will be watching the result of the match closely.

WWE chief content officer Paul “Triple H” Levesque opens the night with a new ring for Monday Night Raw. He told the crowd that the whole world was in for a treat, because now they would watch the show streamable on Netflix. He did his signature “are you ready” and the crowd let loose.

What about The Rock?

“I’m coming home to WWE tomorrow night as we break new history with Netflix and into a new and exciting era,” he revealed via social media on Sunday. “Tomorrow night will be dedicated to my grandfather, the High Chief Peter Maivia, my grandmother, Lia Maivia, and my dad, Rocky” Soulman “Johnson, and all that paved the way.”
However, how The Rock will be a part of the event is not clear, but it would not be surprising for him to play a part in the tribal combat between Reigns and Sikoa. The last time The Rock appeared at WWE was in October, when he appeared at the end of Bad Blood and stared down Reigns and Sikoa.
Monday Night Raw stage
This match is Amazing in appearance at the Intuit Dome; it is similar to what people usually see in the Monday Night Raw stage. The reason is that this is structured exactly like WWE houses its shows, allowing people to sit anywhere in the house and behind the entrance ramp.
